Follow these tips for a quick health fix and start feeling great!

When you order, ask for double the tomato sauce and half the cheese. You still get to enjoy a treat but automatically cut down on saturated fat and benefit from the antioxidants in tomatoes, thought to inhibit or even reverse tumour growth.

2. Juice up your lunch 
Drink a glass of orange juice with your meal to maximise your iron intake. Washing down food with a cup of tea, on the other hand, will inhibit absorption.

3. Boil your dishcloth 
Dunk your dishcloth in a saucepan of water with a bit of washing powder and leave it to boil. Studies have shown that 80 per cent of dishcloths are contaminated with a high number of bacteria, including E.Coli.

4. Tone your pelvic floor 
Prevent cross-your-legs-whensneezing moments and improve your sex life by toning your pelvic floor. Tense the muscles you’d use to hold back the flow of urine for a count of three, then relax for the same. Start with 10 clenches at first, gradually working up to 20. Repeat three times a day.

5. Plan your meals for the week
This will help you eat healthily and avoid wasting food and money. Stock up on healthy snacks (unsalted nuts, seeds, dried fruit and oatcakes, etc) to prevent biscuit barrel temptations.

6. Test your pillow 
Fold it in half, place a book on top and let go. If the pillow throws off the item and fluffs back to shape, it’s still sleepworthy. Wornout and unsupportive pillows increase the risk of fatigue and aches — while up to a third of the weight could be made up of dust mites and their droppings.

7. List what you eat 
Write down everything you eat. Keeping a record of your daily consumption – ble your weight loss, according to American scientists at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research in Oregon, who studied the dietary habits of 1,700 people over six months.

8. Have a good clear-out 
Ditch your toothbrush if you’ve had a cold or other illness. Get rid of any old make-up — it can lead to nasty eye infections. And bag up out-of-date medicines to take to the pharmacist for safe disposal.

9. Sort out your handbag 
Anything over 1.3 kg puts pressure on your back. So empty out old make-up, receipts and loose change. And clean the bottom with an antibacterial wipe. One study found that 30 per cent of bags were contaminated with E. Coli, probably picked up from toilet floors.

10. Grab a rope and skip 
Skipping burns off body fat, works your cardiovascular system, protects your bones from osteoporosis and will put a smile on your face.
