Movenpick Hotel & Spa Bangalore unveils the Roman food festival at Mezzaluna.
Showcasing some of the most unique and rare authentic recipes from Rome, the 10-day festival aims to treat foodies to the magic of the eternal city right from the time Rome became a major gastronomical centre during the ancient age to its present day evolution. With time, this cuisine has been influenced by flavours and cuisines of different cultures through history. The menu has been created using ingredients that are quintessential to Roman cuisine such as artichokes, fresh tomatoes, zucchini and different varieties of cheese.
Chef Armando Di Filippo and his team of chefs invite conoisseurs to experience Rome through food that is fresh, simple and prepared with genuine passion. Chef Armando works with the culinary philosophy that cooking food should be simple and genuine in order to be best enjoyed. He especially enjoys cooking Roman Cuisine amongst all regional cooking from Italy. The highlight of a Roman meal lies in the quality of ingredients used and cooking style, resulting in an artistic amalgamation of flavours and textures.
The menu which has been crafted over eight courses, features specialities such as Antipasto dello Chef (a salad made from chef’s choice of cold meats and pickled vegetables), Stracciatella di Pollo (a chicken soup with egg and parmesan drop), Penne straccetti al sugo (penne pasta tossed with sliced tenderloin, fresh tomato and basil sauce), Gnocchi al ragu’ di Agnello (potato dumplings in white lamb ragout, porcini and pine nuts), Risotto Gamberetti ed asparagi (risotto with prawns and asparagus with zucchini cream) and Trancio di Salmone Grigliato (grilled Norwegian salmon fillet with mussels, zucchini cream and grilled vegetables). One can even watch Chef Armando and his team prepare their meal at the show kitchen which somehow makes the wait an absolute delight.
