A trip to the gym could not only leave you fitter, but also leave you injured.
Consultant and coordinator, department of critical care, Vinay Singhal imparted the training. Dr Singhal said, ”Though gym is a great place to get fit, it can also be a potentially dangerous place. The most common type of accidents that happen are those on the treadmill and running machines like slips, trips and falls on uneven surfaces, mishaps in swimming pools such as skidding on wet floor with no warning signs or incidents in areas left unsupervized by a lifeguard. It is the responsibility of those who manage gyms and leisure centres to minimize the potential for gym injuries by following stringent health and safety standards.”
