Here are five basic ways of cooking your veggies –
Boiling: Boiling veggies is an easy way of using them, but make sure you do not overcook them or they will lose their color and taste. Vegetables which work well with boiling style are corn, peas, potatoes and green beans.
Frying: Every vegetable has a different frying temperature. The vegetables which are the best when served fried include broccoli, potatoes, breaded zucchini and batter-dipped French beans.
Grilling: Grilling veggies is a healthier option for people who do not like deep-fried. Vegetables include corn, asparagus, mushrooms and eggplant.
Sauteeing: A quick saute works well for people who do not want to use too much oil in cooking their veggies. Try this method for vegetables like brussel sprouts, hard greens, mushrooms and bell peppers.
Roasting: Slow-cooked, roasted vegetables in an oven are a good, healthy way to cook them. Try this method with beets, carrots, cauliflower and sweet potatoes.
