#Stress can turn even your #dog’s #hair #grey

Researchers from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in the US examined 400 dogs. Results showed that dogs between 1-4 years of age exhibiting higher owner-reported signs of anxiety showed a greater extent of premature muzzle greying than their less anxious peers.

Increased muzzle greyness also was related to owner-reported symptoms of impulsivity in the dogs.

Female dogs showed higher levels of greyness than male dogs but dog size, spay neuter status and the presence of medical problems did not significantly predict the extent of muzzle greyness.

Step away from washing and cleaning

Most of us get casual when we are working from home and tend to grab quick or easy bites than a proper lunch. Many of us also keep working while having lunch. Avoid this! Take a proper lunch break just like you would have while in office. Also, try to take a walk and bring some life back in your limbs.

Stay away from munching

Nibbling on quick snacks is the most unhealthy thing we do while working from home. Hide all those tempting biscuits and munchies. Instead take coffee or tea breaks – take a stroll in your balcony or prepare yourself a healthy fruit salad.

How to choose a #sunscreen

– Choose a sunscreen that has an SPF of at least 15. If you’re going to be in the sun longer than two hours, choose one with SPF 30.

– Pick a broad-spectrum sunscreen, i.e., one that protects against UVA (skin-aging) and UVB (skin-burning) rays.

– Use a water-based sunscreen if you have oily or acne-prone skin.

– Use waterproof sunscreen if you’re going swimming. Remember, the term ‘waterproof sunscreen’ actually means that it is effective for 40-80 minutes of swimming, so you will have to reapply it if you’re in the water for a long time.

– Not all sunscreens have the same ingredients, so if you have an allergic reaction to the one you are using, choose another with different ingredients.

– Sunscreens with certain ingredients — such as oxybenzone, retinyl palmitate and parabens — should be avoided as they are potentially carcinogenic.
